Council member Lance suggested having more meetings up front-first of September, maybe another in October. Add another meeting to make it 4 meetings instead of 3. Would like to start earlier-is August an option? Schedule an extra meeting on November 14th.

- Goal/Measurements:
-South Valley School is a post-high transition school for students with disabilities. The focus of our school is teaching transition skills to help prepare students for independence and job skills. Every student's educational plan is individualized to meet their needs and their ability levels. During the 2024-2025 school year, students showed 66% of sufficient progress on their goals. During the 2025-2026 school year, students will show 75% of sufficient progress on their IEP goals to enable them to be more independent in the community and successful citizens.

Tammy and Jessica will look into:
- Holiday Service -Aimee’s family would like to do something. Wish list for things needed for SVS. (ideas-shoes for jobsites?)
- Look for space the district could offer up once a week for some type of alumni group.
- November- something we can do to help people who may struggle in December? Giving Tree?
- Special Olympics- any way to get to school? Is it a staffing issue? Lance would be willing to help organize.
- Could SCC help with a job coach appreciation luncheon?
- Tammy and Jess will develop a monthly list of things SCC could help with and a wish list for the school.

- Special Olympics - update: spoke with our activities director. Special Olympics is done through our community due to factors:
- Extra-curricular activities that we do not offer after school
- Funding for coaches and trainings - there is a specific Special Olympics training and application.
- Transportation
- Facilities
- Community activity - depending on their activities already set up
- Recommend - parent can look into the costs of training for coaches, facilities, etc. Parents can promote SVS students to attend the same activity. Parents could coach and form their own team.
- Aimee and Lance will work together to get more information. Aimee stated she spoke with a parent whose students are very involved and will get more information from her.
- Professional Development:
- Codee provides Tech Tuesday 1x per month
- Kim Hardman-Jones - Instructional Coach - provides training at faculty meetings. CTE and STEM
- PDs - Focus on school-wide goal: Staff and Student engagement. Coaches provide instruction
- PLCs - continue to work on monthly. Focus on engagement using the district-provided HITS (High Impact Teaching Strategies).
- Student Placement Discussion: SCC feels it is a case by case basis. Discuss with parents before moving any students. Don’t hold students back. Semester time would be a natural time. Provide a survey to parents at Parent Info Night for new students coming in.

- Land Trust: “Land Trust refers to funds generated from state-owned trust lands, typically used to support specific educational initiatives within schools." Additional $6,000.00 possibly.
- Proposal: This year’s budget was $27,259.72. Staff are using their budgets for accessing the community and making purchases. SCC agrees to the same focus and to maintain plan for next year’s Land Trust Plan: Support Staff in Community, rec center passes, supplies for independent living skills, and technology.
- Team signed LAND Trust Council Signature Form
- TSSA: Stands for “Teacher and Student Success Act” funding, which is designed to directly improve teacher performance and student achievement through targeted investments in professional development, technology, and student intervention.
- This year paid for 80 Chromebooks
- Continue with paid stipends for technology coach, team leads, PLC (takes time away from their planning time), and extracurricular coaches.
