Reunification Plan

SOUTH VALLEY SCHOOL

REUNIFICATION PLAN

PARENT INFORMATION

Protocol when releasing students earlier or later than typical dismissal in response to an emergency or disaster

  1. SAFETY FIRST
    • Families will be notified via a Skylert sent to the cell phone on record in the Skyward Student Account and via the REMIND app. If you are not signed up for REMIND in your student’s classroom, please contact the teacher immediately.
    • Students will remain in classrooms and engaged in learning activities while waiting to be reunited with family or emergency contacts.
    • Students will only be released to individuals listed in the FAMILY or the EMERGENCY sections of their Skyward Student Account.  However, students who are their own guardians will be allowed to leave the school if they present an appropriate plan to the administration regarding how they will get home, e.g. with a friend or via public transportation.

2. Families and individuals coming to pick up students should approach the school by driving south on Redwood Road and driving into the north entrance of the school.

3.  After entering the school grounds, vehicles will drive west toward the main entrance and the Command Center (main entrance).

4. The Command Center will ask which student is being picked up and ask for identification to verify that the individual is listed in Skyward as a family member or an emergency contact. To keep the process moving smoothly, please have your identification ready.

5. Once identification is approved, you will be directed to pull forward to the PICK-UP AREA just east of the main entrance. Your student will come to your vehicle.

6. Please be patient. We have about 150 students who come from throughout the Jordan School District.  There will be lines to get into the school, at the Command Center, and at the pick-up location.

7.  PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE SCHOOL. Our office staff and administration will be working on reunifying students with their families. You can communicate with our student’s teachers via REMIND, but please remember that classroom staff will still be working with students so please keep your communication to only what is necessary. Teachers will be glad to know if there will be a delay in a student being picked up.
